Former Kelowna Rockets defenceman Damon Severson will start the season with the New Jersey Devils.

Severson, 20, made the Devils opening night NHL roster and will start the season with the NHL team.

“I’ve always believed in myself and I’ve been confident in my game,” Severson told I just hope I can continue to do what I’ve been doing and stay here.”

Severson played four full seasons with the Rockets, culminating with last years season where he had 61 points in 64 games and was plus 47.

A native of Melville, SK, Severson was the Rockets top defenceman his last two seasons with the Rockets.
