Game Day Preview: The Kelowna Rockets close out a three game road trip tonight against the Spokane Chiefs. It is the teams 5th game in 8 days. The Rockets are coming off two games in Victoria, winning Monday (5-2) before losing Tuesday evening (6-2) in the rematch. The Rockets and Chiefs are meeting for the third time this season. The Rockets are 0-2-0-0 in the seasonal series, losing by scores of 5-0 and 5-4. Leif Mattson leads the Rockets in the two games with 0+4=4 while Alex Swetlikoff has 2+1=3. James Porter and Roman Basran have both seen action on both games. Porter has been tagged with both losses but has better numbers with a goals against average of 2.91. The Rockets are 6 for 7 on the penalty kill against the Chiefs, who visit Prospera Place one more time on March 13th. Following tonight’s game, the Rockets host Kamloops tomorrow night in a clash of two teams hunting down third place in the BC Division. The Blazers are only four points back of the Rockets with three games in hand. Overall, the Rockets are 8-12-2-1 in 23 games since the Christmas break. The Rockets are 20-19-4-1 in 44 games under head coach Adam Foote.
