TEAM NOTES PREPARED BY REGAN BARTEL OF AM 1150

  • Tonight’s Preview: The Kelowna Rockets play game two of a four-game road trip tonight in Prince George. This is the third meeting between the two teams, with the Rockets having played only 11 games this season. The Rockets split a pair of games with the Cougars back on October 4th and 5th with a 2-1 win followed by a 4-1 setback. The teams meet again in 10 days, back at Prospera Place on November 1st. The Rockets are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Kamloops Blazers Saturday night. Kyle Topping scored the lone goal in the teams’ fourth setback of the season. The penalty-killing unit was solid going 7 for 7 against one of the top power-play units in the WHL. Roman Basran was terrific in goal making 37 saves in the one-goal loss. The Rockets are also looking for more success against a BC Division rival with an early-season record of 1-4-1-0 in 6 attempts. This road trip wraps up with two games in Victoria next Tuesday and Wednesday. In November, the Rockets play 7 of 11 games on home ice.
