Next Game Feb. 3 vs Vancouver

 

The Kelowna Rockets will take on the Vancouver Giants in a home-and-home series for the second consecutive weekend.

The two will play in Langley on Friday night at 7:30 pm, they’ll then see each other again on Saturday at 7:05 pm at Prospera Place.

Both teams have had the week off after a busy weekend last weekend.

Kelowna played three games in as many nights last weekend. The Rockets downed the Giants 4-1 in Langley on Friday, the Giants then took the second game 4-3 on Saturday night at Prospera Place.

Vancouver had Sunday off, but the Rockets dropped their second game in a row, falling 5-1 to the Victoria Royals.

The last time these two met 

In Saturday’s game the Rockets scored the opening goal, but the Giants pushed back with three unanswered goals. Adam Kydd inched the Rockets back within one twice in the final frame, but Kelowna was unable to capitalize on a five-on-three power play opportunity with 3:36 to play in the game. Talyn Boyko made 25 saves on 29 shots.


Roster Updates

Ty Hurley and Andrew Cristall are both listed as out week to week with lower body injuries on this week’s injury report.

Players to watch

Kelowna

  • Three of overage forward Carson Golder‘s 16 goals this season have been scored against the Giants.
  • Defenceman Jackson DeSouza has posted there assists against the Giants this season, he also recorded the Rockets lone goal in Sunday’s loss to the Royals.

Vancouver

  • Forward Jaden Lipinski played alongside Rocket defenceman Caden Pace at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game on Wednesday in Langley. A late 2004 birthdate, the Arizona product is eligible for the NHL Draft for the first time this June. Lipinski is ranked 38th by NHL Central Scouting on their midterm rankings.
  • Forward Ty Halaburda is ranked 38th by NHL Central Scouting on their midterm rankings.

Online 50/50

The Kelowna Rockets online 50/50 is back for the 2022-23 season!

The online 50/50 will give fans in Rockets fans located in British Columbia and those who are attending the game the chance to win during every Rockets home game this season. The 50/50 will also raise important dollars for the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

Tickets will be available for purchase on all game days starting at 9 a.m. PT and end at the start of the third period on the same day.

Lineup Sheet + Game Day Program

Printed lineup sheets will not be available at games this season, they can be accessed online by visiting the game day program.

The Game Day Program will be available in the same spot, it comes complete with game notes, stats, team rosters and entry forms for the Rockets intermission contests.

The sheet and program will be uploaded by 3:00 p.m. on game days. The game day program for Sunday’s game is now live.
