The Kelowna Rockets will host the Moose Jaw Warriors tomorrow night on Hat Trick Wednesday at Prospera Place.
Kelowna is coming off a 4-0 loss to the Prince George Cougars on Saturday night. Forward Leif Mattson says that the Rockets need to focus on key details to be successful Wednesday night.
“We just need to take it one shift at a time,” said Mattson. “We need to stick to our game plan and capitalize on our opportunities when we get them. We need to play a full 60 minutes and not take any shifts off in order to be successful.”
This will be the only time that the two teams face each other during the regular season this year. They also only played once last season, Moose Jaw defeated Kelowna 6-3 at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on December 12, 2017.
The Rockets currently sit in third place in the B.C. Division with a record of 17-21-3-1 and 38 points. They’re five points ahead of the fifth-place Kamloops Blazers and are three points in front of the Prince Geroge Cougars who sit in fourth place. The Rockets trail the Victoria Royals by seven points for second while the Vancouver Giants are in top spot with 54 points and a 26-12-2-0 record.
Moose Jaw will face the Kamloops Blazers Tuesday night before heading to Kelowna. They head into that contest with a record of 21-11-5-2 and 49 points, which places them third in the East Conference. They trail the Saskatoon Blades by nine points and are 26 points back of the division-leading Prince Albert Raiders. The Rockets will face Prince Albert on Saturday night.
