Calvin Thurkauf opened the scoring potting his 26th of the season 2:16 into the first period. Seattle tied it up but the Rockets regained the lead after Leif Mattson put home his 6th. Seattle managed to rally back and knot the game at 2-2 heading into the second period.

Seattle scored in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the final stanza.

The Thunderbirds carried the lead for much of the third, but with just under eight minutes to go Calvin Thurkauf scored his second of the night and tied the game up at 3-3. Nick Merkley topped it off for the Rockets as they scored four third period goals to propel themselves past the Thunderbirds by a final score of 6-3.
